How it Works
- GrantRisk uses AI to analyze federally funded research programs by comparing their content to a set of predefined keywords associated with funding risk.
- The tool calculates how closely a program aligns with keywords banned by the new administration and assigns a risk score based on that similarity.
- The highest similarity value is selected as the funding risk score to calculate a risk score—expressed as a percentage—representing the likelihood of funding instability.
- The score is then mapped to an overall risk rating (Low, Medium, or High), making it easier to interpret at a glance.
- A higher risk score means a greater likelihood of funding reduction or elimination, helping researchers and institutions make informed decisions about funding strategies.
- Users can upload a CSV file containing project details, allowing for bulk risk assessment across multiple programs, including planned future programs.
